This was a very skilful recipe! I only used 3 cloves of garlic and it was yet very flavorful. I put in 2 onions instead of one. The meat was very tender. The sugariness potatoes were very tender, NOT mushy and tasted wonderful. I had leftovers and when reheated in the saved goop in a saucepan was just as good every bit the first mean solar day it was made. I put the leftover meat in a low oven wraped in foil for a brusque fourth dimension and it was still mosit and tender. My married man loved this and said he definitely wants this as a "make again" recipe. I hint, if y'all open up the lid fifty-fifty just one fourth dimension before the minimum cooking time, y'all loose 1 to 1/2 hrs. of cooking time, which means you have to add that additional loss of fourth dimension to your expected fourth dimension washed.

oh my, what a great recipe!! i didn't alter a thing and it came out perfect. my parents came to visit, and they could not believe how wonderful it was. 9/25/08... The posting higher up was made a few years agone, and I've made this several times since, but I thought I'd alter it upward a little this time. I've ever added more garlic than called for, simply this last fourth dimension I seared the pork roast as I usually practise, then I added about a one/2 can of craven broth to the drippings, let it come to a simmer to loosen up the $.25 stuck to the pan, then poured it into the crockpot along with the rest of the broth...that small-scale stride took this recipe to another level!! This is really the only mode I cook pork roast. Give thanks y'all so much for this posting.

I used this recipe as a base to get the last results I was looking for. My pork turned out splendid, extremely tender and not the to the lowest degree fleck dry. I left out the sweet potatoes because I just wanted plain mashed potatoes that I could pour gravy over. I seared the pork with my seasonings of choice, garlic, Fiesta Fajita seasoning, and salt-complimentary Cavender'southward Greek Seasoning. I saved the 'drippings' from the searing to make my gravy rue then added the goop from the cooked roast to finish it up. I cooked the roast on 2 onions cutting in half for 5 1/2 hours and just cut the cooker off to permit it 'rest' for the last 30 minutes while I was finishing up the remainder of the meal. I haven't eaten until I was 'stuffed' in a long time, but I certainly did last night and and then did my husband!
11/06/2006
Nosotros really enjoyed this recipe. We added carrots, extra table salt and pepper and used white table potatoes. Which turned excellent. Thanks
10/22/2002
This was a very tender roast. I used a 3 lb. boneless sirloin, tied. I seared it in olive oil after I rubbed information technology with rosemary and Mrs. Dash Garlic & herb. I didn't have sweetness taters, then I just used russets. Later on it was done, I poured the goop into a bucket and thickened it with cornstarch to make gravy. Yummmmmy!!
04/08/2003
This recipe is incredible! I started it in the morning time and by the time my hubby came home the roast was falling apart. The combination of the sugariness potatoes, garlic and the pork all complement each other very well!
02/06/2003
This was very proficient, specially considering how easy information technology was to make. I was sure to season the roast well with garlic powder, dried chopped rosemary, seasoned table salt and pepper before I seared information technology (sear it well too, as this locks in all the juices). I served information technology with honey glazed carrots and made actress honey/dark-brown saccharide/butter glaze to serve on the sweet potatoes. A delicious meal that was something other than chicken, plus my husband said he'd like to accept it once more which is the true test! Thanks for a groovy recipe Brandy!
eleven/04/2004
This was, great! Minimal piece of work and we came domicile to a nifty supper. But since I decided to make this nigh 10 minutes before walking out the door, I had to make due with what i had on hand. I used 2 small roasts, salt & peppered and seared really well, most a 1/2 a cup of campbell's chicken goop, and 1 Knorr's chicken burgoo cube mixed with i loving cup hot water, had no onions so I used near a 1/8 loving cup of dehydrated onion, and used well-nigh five-6 cloves of garlic, as well, had no sweetness potatoes on hand so on the way home I picked some reddish potatoes up and merely served equally mashed. *grinning* we too don't ain a tiresome cooker and I but tossed it in the oven in my roaster, covered with foil & hat and turned oven on to 250 F and let information technology cook all solar day (eight hours). It was soooo moist & full of flavour!! Thank yous Brandy!
03/27/2011
This recipe gave an absolutely perfectly textured pork roast -- business firm but tender, perfect for sandwhich slicing. (We commencement all our roasts from frozen). Started everything at once with the onions on the bottom, then the roast, then the sweet potatoes. The sweet potatoes were also slightly firm, not mooshy. I loved it!!!!
09/13/2006
This was dandy! Nosotros followed the recipe exactly, and I loved the mix of the soft sweet potatoes with the pork -- delicious!! Tastes adept over rice, or merely on its own. The only affair I might do differently side by side time is add some more onions -- one just didn't seem like enough. Thanks!
01/25/2003
This was a great meal. I took previous reviewers' advice and sliced garlic sparse, inserting directly into the meat. I also added a tablespoon of quick cooking tapioca prior to cooking, this helped make a prissy thick goop for spooning over meat and potatoes. Previous review complaining of dry out meat either didn't accept a good cut of meat or didn't brown the meat well enough before placing in the irksome cooker. Cheers!
01/28/2010
Made as per recipe except I put the sweet potatoes on top equally I would accept to leave it for nine hours, and only added about a cup of stock. Meat was tender, peradventure a bit dry. What fabricated this is that I took the juice from the crockpot and pureed information technology with a hand blender. Then I put information technology in a saucepan, added cornstarch and h2o and peradventure a tablespoon of balsamic vinegar and cooked information technology for a bit. My petty sauce really made this dish and I would definately make it once again with this sauce.
04/08/2002
The finished recipe was really bland. When making the recipe, I hoped it would taste skillful, because it was really easy. Oh well. The sugariness potatoes turn to mush and the combinations of ingredients do not really mix well together. Not to mention, the pork was extremely dry. Even worse leftover!
04/14/2005
I was looking for a quick roast recipe and this is a great ane!! I did brand a few changes. I did not have potatoes so I used sliced carrots instead. I also did non accept a can of craven broth so I added 2 cups hot water to pan drippings after removing pork, added ii boulion cubes, stired till dissolved then poured over pork in tiresome cooker. I placed iv of the 6 garlic cloves in the cooker, made 2 deep slits(2in. each)in the meat and stuffed them with the remaing two garlic cloves. It was so moist and yummy. Nosotros merely couldn't get enough!!
02/13/2006
I used regular potatoes and didn't add together them until the terminal hour or so of cooking. Tasted fabulous! And so tender!
05/26/2003
This was a tasty and like shooting fish in a barrel pot roast. The garlic did not overwhelm the season of the roast or the veggies. When it was time to serve the roast was so tender it was just falling apart.
09/xiv/2003
I followed that other readers advice with the additional spices and it was Smashing! My guests loved information technology. The searing is very very important to exercise well (you need to simply acquire that lesson in one case). I will use this one again!
07/24/2003
Oh my goodness...neat recipe! I followed ane of the other reviewers and added "one TB crushed peppercorns, one tea of oregano, 1 tea cumin (not seeds), 1/2 tea of ground cloves, ane.5 tea of cinnamon", and I too added ane teaspoon of chipotle. A HUGE hit at our house! Thanks!
01/04/2010
Turned out amazing. Used Yukon gold potatoes instead of sweet potatoes.
03/twenty/2010
Based on some revies I read I put the sweet potatoes on top of the meat, I still put the onion and garlic on the lesser of the meat. My family loves this!
01/11/2005
great recipe! I cooked mine in the oven for about ii- 2 and ane/two hours. But thing I did different was to put both black and cayenne pepper on the loin before browning.
01/02/2009
This is a quick and easy recipe!! Came out wonderful! My husband liked it and he is a PICKY eater!! I also made a few modifications. I used canola oil to brown information technology. I shoved cloves of garlic in information technology for more flavour, and used regular potatoes instead of sweet (hubby and I don't similar them LOL). I also used beef broth (I didn't have chicken). Came out tasty and meat was tender! I will DEFINATELY make this again and maybe add some carrots and effort the chicken broth. Thanks for a great recipe!! ~Ina :)
12/05/2010
the pork roast turned out perfect! I'1000 not a fan of the sweetness potatoes cooked in garlic and onion, since I similar them to remain sweet... but they weren't terrible. I'll make this once more only side by side time I'll effort using red potatoes.
05/09/2013
This was very bland and the sweet potatoes soak up the craven goop flavors and get out them tasting strange. There is just chicken broth left in the lesser which isn't gravy or sauce.... just broth. Zippo yous'd desire to cascade over your meat.
08/05/2008
This was very tasty. I made it without the sweet potatoes (didn't have any). Followed some other reviewers suggestions... seared pork roast with my preferred seasonings, cut some thick onion slices and put those at the lesser of the crock pot, added whole garlic cloves and put the pork on top of the onions, then added the chicken broth. I had most a 4 lb roast and cooked information technology for almost ix hours. I then used the broth in the crockpot to brand pork gravy. Turned out delicious. Served westward/ mashed potatoes and salad.
10/14/2008
Very skillful, my husband loved it! I omitted the sugariness potato's, made mashed instead. I sprinkled garlic powder on the roast before browning it and then added vi whole cloves of garlic to the crock pot. When information technology was done I removed the roast and added little more salt & pepper & corn starch to thicken the juice, while this was thicking I sliced the roast and and so put it in the gravy. We had enough gravy for the mashed potato's too.
11/23/2003
My cooker doesn't have a 'low' setting, it has numbers and then I used the same setting I apply for slow cooked pot roast. I checked information technology later about iii hours and by affect appeared to exist washed just not falling apart tender as others described it, I was concerned it might become actually dry out but I threw caution to the current of air and let it cook for the full 6 hours. It was juicy, and falling autonomously tender. Absolutely succulent!
02/28/2008
Used another reviewer's proposition and rubbed with Old Bay seasoning. It notwithstanding was a scrap plain for me, but I did similar it. I used a bone in pork roast and had to massacre the roast, bone and all, to brand it fit. I didn't use sweetness potatoes--just used a regular baking white potato. Bf decided nosotros are making bbq'd pork out of the leftovers, and he liked information technology equally is just fine.
11/07/2004
the pork came out great simply the sweetness potatoes were very mushy and non so sweetness every bit I thought they would be. I will certainly make this again but possibly use carrots or other vegetables instead of the potatoes.
02/07/2006
The pork was splendid very tender and juicy. I will brand this volition white potatoes next fourth dimension. Onions and garlic don't mix well with the sugariness potatoes.
12/12/2002
This was alright. Dry out equally a bone, not too flavorful or delicious. More veggies needed. I had to put almost a pound of salt on every bite.
11/eighteen/2006
This was very tasty! A new fashion to eat sweet potatoes, with gravy (which I made from the broth.)
11/14/2005
This was really good, only as said the sweet murphy is very mushy, which is okay if you lot want mashed potato. I call up adjacent time I will put the sweet irish potato in half way thru. I also used lots of rosemary & fresh garlic. Will make again ;-)
03/26/2007
MMMMM! That's all my kids said when they were eating this. The pork turned out and so good. I followed some of the suggestions and seasoned the pork with some of my favorite mixed seasoning and seared information technology before putting it in the dull cooker. I remember the pork deserved 5 star but the sweet potatoes simply iv star. Side by side time I will try something different with the sweetness potatoes, perhaps wraping them in foil to cook along side the pork or use red potaoes instead.
02/23/2003
This recipe was a hit. Had the in-laws over and it was gobbled up! I was a little sceptical nearly the garlic with sweet potatoes, merely it was very good! Will definately make this again!
10/26/2008
I guess I was expecting something with a lot more than season. I even used a pork rub on it, still pretty bland. The sweet potatoes came out perfect.
06/08/2006
This was a actually tasty recipe only I call back it was cooked to long, next time I will cut dorsum on cooking time. My family didn't actually similar the sweet potatoes so I will use white ones next time. Te flavor was slap-up overall.
12/21/2006
The roast was awsome. The kids fifty-fifty ate it as leftovers. The sweet potatoes lacked something merely were fair. Information technology was all nearly the roast for me. Volition make again.
12/25/2013
Lacked in flavor. Followed directions exactly. Pork was perfect just needed more than flavor. Girlfriend agrees
01/xi/2003
It'southward good. Nice tender meat and potatoes were perfect softness. I would jazz up the spices a bit next time, possibly put the garlic cloves directly into the meat.
10/30/2006
I seasoned browned meat with 1/4 tsp of Jamaican Jerk seasoning and garlic powder (used strips instead of roast) and then, later on cooking meat, onions, and sweet potatoes for almost five one/2 hours, I added one drained can of vegetarian black beans and cooked an additional ane hour on depression. Served over brown rice.
04/18/2009
I changed the recipe past adding russet potatoes instead of the sweetness, and the pork turned out VERY dry out. So I cannot honestly rate the recipe since I tweeked information technology. I don't remember ppl should rate the recipe 5 stars if they had to alter information technology. I rated the recipe according the taste of the roast - too darn dry.
08/xiv/2013
OMG!!! So adept! Mike had never had sweetness potatoes that didn't have brown sugar, (he did not like sweet potatoes considering of that)...afterwards this dinner he loves them! I was scared to do it. I couldn't imagine sweet potatoes cooked with a roast. SO Proficient!! And in the crock pot no less, so like shooting fish in a barrel! I went about our busy twenty-four hour period and that evening nosotros ate similar I had been in the kitchen all twenty-four hour period. AWESOME, a MUST attempt. I but needed this recipe for ii, but followed information technology completely (for two).
09/25/2002
Great meal! I fabricated a gravy from the broth afterwards it had cooked 6 hours that had a super flavour.
12/29/2009
I have searched in vain for a deadening cooker recipe with a roast that turns out tasty. This was no exception. They all have that steamed meat flavor. I fabricated this tonight, I added a few more spices and vegetables as I was hoping to enhance the flavour. We ate it, but I tossed out most of it. I don't know if there are others out there who call up that all slow cooker recipes taste the same but if there are take heed and annotation this does not do a pork roast justice. I will be deleting this one from my recipe box.
09/26/2009
Followed the recipe exactly every bit written, and the finish result was a little bland for our tastes. Husband ate it later dousing it with pepper, but after one bite, the kids wouldn't touch information technology. Notwithstanding searching for a good, bones, crock pot pork roast.
05/26/2010
This was very flavorful and moist. And then easy in the crockpot. Definally a keeper.
05/xiv/2002
Kids and hubby raved near this repast! This is reallly goood Mom!
12/23/2006
This recipe was a big hit! We had no leftovers and my married man said he would be upset if I didn't make this recipe over again. It'south a keeper!!
12/07/2004
This was AWESOME! Only used one clove of garlic and mixed some yams with the sweet potatoes. Probably won't exercise that side by side time as they were overdone and seemed like a sponge for the grease. Thought this was excellent.
02/21/2014
I didn't like this recipe. Information technology was very bland and I had fifty-fifty used extra garlic. I would not brand this once more!
01/22/2006
The sweet potatoes tasted like onion which just didn't practice information technology for me, and the pork wasn't as tender every bit I had hoped.
09/12/2006
This was a really good, easy recipe. I made a couple of boo boos though, I put in Style too much onion and cooked a little too long. I did use white potatoes though and put them with some carrots on top of the roast for the entire cooking time and they were delicious. Cheers
12/04/2003
This is the best and easiest way to cook a pork roast. Delicious and hassle free.
01/07/2008
Finally! I accept institute a recipe for pork roast that didn't telephone call for a love apple product! Loved it!
eleven/24/2009
This recipe was non to my liking. It was well cooked but that is about all I can say. Tasted REALLY bland. Different a lot of reviewers I always follow the recipe exactly earlier I rate information technology so I tin requite an honest rating on the actual recipe every bit written. My stance: SKIP Information technology!
04/27/2006
Season was terrific! Although, my meat was very very dry. I will cut my cooking time down at least an 60 minutes next time. Fabulous recipe...thank you for sharing!
03/18/2007
Very tender, but banal to me.
10/20/2003
It's good. The pork was tender and the combination of flavors worked fine together; I but didn't retrieve it was anything special.
03/03/2007
This recipe worked out really well. To spice it up a bit, add together some Mojo to your gustation and the flavor will be perfect. Was a little bland before adding the Mojo.
08/28/2009
Succulent! I was a bit worried about the sugariness potatoes, because nosotros aren't large fans, but I thought it complimented the pork extremely well. The pork itself then so moist and tender. My potatoes were very mushy, and then next time I make this I will add them later on rather than at the beginning. I made a gravy with the stock, and while information technology was delicious, you really don't need gravy with this meal. Nosotros can't wait to have this again.
10/20/2003
This was and so skilful the meat just fell apart
01/17/2006
Loved this recipe. Added a lot more garlic and seasoned the meat with a lot of garlic pulverization and italian seasoning. My sweet pot went bad so I threw in baby carrots. Not a carrot fan and my husband was not thrilled with them either. Can't wait to attempt it with Sweetness pot. Even my picky daughter loved information technology.
11/26/2006
I was and then DISAPPOINTED in this recipe. Information technology was terrible!!!
02/27/2008
Very good. I followed some others advice and seasoned it so browned in oil. Covered with chicken goop and added some veggies. All i can say is there were no leftovers crusade my hubby loved it then much.
12/26/2005
Dandy combination.
12/07/2009
Turned out juicy and flavorful, didn't have to change a thing!
11/14/2008
This was falling apart, it was then tender. The sweet potatoes were like mush, fifty-fifty after post-obit proposition to place on top of roast. In addition, if you are going to make a gravy from some of the "juices", you lot may have to doctor it up a lot to go rid of that sweetness potato flavor. I dearest sugariness potatoes but will surely leave them out next fourth dimension.
06/27/2002
This was a very like shooting fish in a barrel way to brand a yummy pork roast. Information technology came out moist and we liked that. It as well is a neat recipe if yous want "comfort nutrient" and do not desire to heat upward the house with the oven.
11/12/2002
The recipe was easy and extremely flavorful. I used acorn squash instead of sweet potatoes and they had a very interesting flavor. The liquid made a swell cornstarch gravy.
01/30/2008
This recipe was really good. I'chiliad non a sweetness potato fan, so I only used regular potatoes. Across that, this seems like a recipe you can really accommodate to brand something a little different every time you make it.
09/04/2003
I used the spices as other reviewers suggested and information technology was really skillful - very tender! Will definately make once more.
01/08/2004
Smells very expert when cooking, but I idea information technology was too garlicy. I took the proffer of putting slivers of garlic into the pork, because we love garlic, but I think it was too much. I will go far again with less garlic and I won't insert it into the pork. Otherwise very tender and juicy.
06/20/2007
This was non BAD, simply information technology wasn't anything to write home about. Definately lacks flavour.
04/06/2013
Delicious!! Such a simple and easy recipe! The pork was so moist and tender! Only change I fabricated was added carrots and an extra tin of goop, my crockpot is deep and narrow so I needed more to cover the pork. Definitely worth trying!
07/09/2008
M
04/12/2004
Wonderful, this is definetely a keeper! Give thanks y'all for sharing
03/28/2007
This was a pretty skilful base recipe. I wish I would have read the reviews before I fabricated it and seasoned it a trivial more like everyone suggested. Notwithstanding, I think because it was so mildly flavored my kids loved it; telling me it was the all-time "chicky" always!:)
04/07/2013
It was ok I spiked, garlicked and seared only my roast was flavorless maybe I added too much liquid=I didn't have canned broth and so I used 2 craven boullouin (sp) cubes and mixed with 2 cups of water mixed in the skillet I seared the roast in. The meat was uber tender and the potatos and carrots were perfect just no flavor pork wish I knew what I was doing wrong
02/12/2013
Was very good set in wearisome cooker before work and came home to meal ready to eat. I too added some bay leaves. The sweet potatoes were perfect tenderness however not mushy and the pork was fall autonomously tender.
01/13/2010
Nosotros loved this! easy and tasted and so adept...didn't change a thing
11/22/2006
thought this was delcious!! next time i'll add together some spices though! Meat very tender & sweet potatoes done to perfection!
04/04/2011
I love this recipe. I get in with red potatoes also. My kids and hubby gobble it upward. I practice pierce the roast and put slices of garlic in it also. This is a staple in or house now.
04/01/2006
This recipe was cracking. It was very flavorful, juicy and tender. My family really enjoyed the change from the same former roast ideas.
03/09/2006
My family loved information technology. I put the sweet potatos on top cutting in one-half for the unabridged cooking time.
08/eighteen/2014
This was great, Information technology took no fourth dimension at all to prepare and smelled bully while cooking, I tossed in a few mushrooms halfway through cooking and served this with a kale salad. Thank you.
02/08/2004
Easy to make, and very tasty. Although next fourth dimension, I will put some brownish sugar on the sweet potatoes. I like them very very sweet.
01/23/2004
The roast turned out "ok", cipher likewise special. Ours was non dry either. The sweet potatoes turned into mush. The one child I take, who eats annihilation, passed on them.
05/02/2013
Made this exactly as the recipe said and it was a big hit - the whole family said it was delicious!
04/06/2007
Amazing! I followed the recipe almost exactly. The but alter I made was adding more of my favorite veggies similar carrots, pocket-sized red potatoes, and mushrooms. Everything turned out incredibly moist and tender! Information technology was perfect, and I'll definitely brand this again and again!
09/21/2003
I thought it was very skillful and very tender. The meat was a piffling dry all the same so salvage some of the juice from the crock pot to spoon over the meat. With the leftover meat, I pulled the pork autonomously and put BBQ sauce on it over night. The next evening I fabricated pulled pork BBQ sandwiches on a bun. My kids loved it and asked for 2d sandwiches.
01/25/2002
Very quick & easy to Make!
12/30/2007
Followed the advice of the previous reviewers.....didn't have Fasten though....used Sometime Bay seasoning. The whole family gave this a thumbs up! Will definitly make again.
04/03/2006
This was great! I accept to admit that I was a little scared of the sugariness potatoes, but they were a pleasent suprise! Thanks for sharing!!
07/25/2013
this was ok, a picayune bland but information technology was still enjoyable.
10/xxx/2010
This recipe tasted very good for all of us. Thank you.
06/06/2016
I made recipe every bit written with the exception of seasoning the roast with salt, pepper & rosemary earlier searing. I seared every side of the roast and put all in crock pot as directed. It turned out very flavorful, the roast was nice and moist, and the sweet potatoes were done only non mushy. I cooked the whole 6 hours. I love sugariness potatoes, but in a savory mode, not sugariness with chocolate-brown sugar, cinnamon, etc., and cooked this way they were a very prissy compliment to the pork. I also removed meat and vegetables and added some cornstarch to make a nice gravy which was delicious over the meat and the potatoes. After searing the roast, I did deglaze the pan with a little chicken broth and added that in to the crockpot. Wonderful recipe, volition definitely make once again!
03/12/2007
The pork was nifty (used a tenderloin) but you accept to really like sweet potatoes because no flavor other than that - I even used extra garlic & garlic craven consume.
01/24/2011
Sorry, but this i just didn't turn out well at all for me...to the betoken that I threw one/2 the roast abroad. I like all the pieces, but I did not like the outcome. Cooking in a slow cooker naturally makes nutrient a little more bland and every bite tasting the same thana regular oven -- I know & recognize that, but the taste that was there ... I really did non like it at all. Seems like lots of people did though, so you lot might endeavour it...peradventure it'southward just me (or my deadening cooker).
